Day 15 Overview
Today’s training focused on using a MindMapping tool to lay out the elements of my first product. The power of a MindMapping tool is that you can add ideas in any order you want, them move them around, nest them and change them easily. It’s an empowering way to “dump” everything that’s in my head in any order that I think of it and then find “order” later.
Day 15 Tasks
- Look at examples of John Thornhill’s MindMaps from several of his products to see how he uses the tools to develop his products.
- The second task is to create my very own Mind Map so I can bring order to my own product offering. What a fun (and useful) exercise!
Day 15 Thoughts
I really like the concept of Mind Maps. My process for creation of anything has always been iterative. I start by making a list of my thoughts (typically a bulleted list), then making a second pass by moving the ideas into a logical order. I continue to go through the list over and over until things are in the order I want and telling the story I want to tell. That process works, but isn’t particularly efficient.
Using Mind Mapping software lets me add all of my ideas at once, then literally move them around in any order I want. If I look at the order and don’t like it, I can move them around again until they make sense. I find that the software helps me to stay focused on the message I’m trying to deliver and not get hung up on any one particular detail.
This day was not only fun but also really helpful for solidifying my product and it’s benefits.
Are you considering building your own online business but aren’t sure where to start or how to figure everything out? If so, I’d encourage you to check out the same program that I’m using right now to build this site and my first product. John Thornhill’s Partnership to Success program will teach you how to build a business of your very own and provide the same mentoring resources that I currently use.
